πŸ“š Juggling, juggling and a bit nervous

Published 2 months agoΒ β€’Β 3 min read

It has been a grueling few weeks as I juggled two huge personal projects in addition to all my clients' work.

The first one, which I launched over the weekend, is my self-paced ghostwriting mini-course titled "How to make income from ghostwriting." I launched this course on Kajabi, and I had a lot to learn about how the platform works and how best to use all of its features.

The Kajabi team was amazing in onboarding me and provided me with four free one-on-one consulting sessions, which was fantastic.

I put my heart and soul into this course and shared everything I know about ghostwriting: How to get started, how to find clients, and how to make income. You can watch the recorded videos and access the material anytime, and you will have lifetime access to the course and the updated versions. And it's all for only $79.99. You can sign up here.

The second project that has been taking a lot of my time is implementing all the edits I got from the editor I hired to review my manuscript Karma Unleashed, part of a three-part supernatural mystery series. A few months ago, I was contacted by an agent who showed interest in representing me and asked for an updated version of my manuscript after seeing an earlier version. So let's see if it's going to work this time. Fingers crossed🀞🏻.

So yeah, it has been hectic and stressful, and I'm a bit nervous. I have invested a lot of time and money in both of these projects, and I'm hoping, praying, and manifesting.

The creator's journey is never easy.

Keep creating.

🀩 Things that wowed me

πŸ“Ή YouTube: I enjoyed watching this video, "The 4 Best Writing Craft Books Every Fiction Writer Should Reading," in which a published author shares the top four books that helped transform her writing and landed her a 6-figure 2-book deal with HarperCollins! I added these books to TBR and will be reading them soon.

πŸŽ™Podcast: I'm late to the party, but I have just discovered the highly acclaimed podcast Indie Hackers, and I'm hooked. I enjoyed listening to an episode by one of my favorite marketers and podcasters, Seth Godin. One thing that resonated with me in this podcast is when Godin said, "I'm not a hero. I'm a teacher."

πŸ“š Book: I just finished the novel Our Share of Night by Marian Enriquez, and it was a beast. It took me over a month to finish it because of its very long, intense, horrific nature. It was my first work by Argentinian rising superstar Mariana Enriquez, and it definitely won’t be the last. If you love supernatural thrillers that span generations, then this is for you.

πŸ”¨Tool: I have been experimenting with a new AI tool, Tugan, which helps creators repurpose their content in various formats, from YouTube videos to a Twitter thread, from an article to a LinkedIn post, and more. So far, I'm impressed. Have you ever used it?

I loved Yellowface by R.F. Kuang.

The book delves into various themes, including cultural appropriation, racial injustice, of literary gatekeeping, and the toxic impact of social media. What I loved most about the book is its incisive, satirical writing, filled with dark humor.

Watch this episode on my YouTube channel, and please don't forget to subscribe (I'm trying hard to get monetized, so if you help me, I would appreciate it!)

πŸ“š Published work

I am thrilled to have my short story The Agency included in the anthology Stories from the Center of the World: New Middle East Fiction, along with top-notch Arab and Arab-American writers. The anthology is coming out in May, and you can order it here.

Many of you here know I write for a living- a dream job, to say the least. I have been doing it as a full-time job for over three years now, and I must say that the rewards outweigh all the stress and obstacles that come along the way. My income is divided between client work, commissioned articles, ghostwriting products, coaching, and teaching. It took me over three years to understand the business side of things, and I'm still learning and growing, and enjoying every second along the way....

At my book launch

Sometimes, the unexpected happens. I started doing publishing and writing coaching after being approached by several people who follow me on social media or subscribe to my newsletter. Honestly, I had never thought about coaching before until I saw the demand. Almost everyone who approached me wanted to write and publish a book, but felt overwhelmed with the abundance of information available online and didn't know how to begin. I took on a couple of clients and started coaching. I enjoyed...
